We will dig deeper, looking to matters concerning both countries and how they are doing in terms of football development.Welcome on board as we go on this exciting journey.

KENYA

Kenya , is a country widely known for athletics but also in terms of football, they are among the best in East Africa region.

The game of football is governed by the Football Kenya Federation i.e. FKF, which is run currently with President Hussein Mohammed together with his counterpart, Mac Donald Mariga, who is a former Kenyan International Footballer.

The structure of the Kenyan football system is as follows:

  • Kenyan Premier/ Sportpesa League
  • National Super League
  • Division one
  • Regional
  • Sub county & county League
As for the top tier, it's named Sportpesa, since the firm Sportpesa, is the title sponsor of the league. All comply with promotion and relegation system.

As for the Sportpesa League, the winners earn a ticket to represent the nation in prestigious CAF champions league while winners of the domestic cup, earn a slot in CAF confederation cup.The league's logo is as shown below.

The football in a Kenya, concerning the youths has been heavily reliant on schools at most where the talent is gotten, then national team in u 17's and earn a place to play in senior teams. Some of the successful schools known to produce this talents include such as; Kakamega high, Chavakali, Musingu , St. Anthony Kitale and others mostly from the Western region of the country.

Although it has been a good approach with helping to select best raw talents with likes of Aldrine Kibet, who is in Celta Vigo B as of now in Spain, Some of the players scouted are not followed up overtime thus, dragging the progress of teams transition into the senior team.

TANZANIA

As of Tanzania, they have really progressed comparing to years back and in terms of league, which is slightly different from Kenya, when it comes to the youth systems.

The governing body of football there, is the Tanzania Football Federation i.e. TFF

The President of the federation is currently Wallice Karia.

The league structure is as follows:

  • Tanzania Premier League /NBC premier league
  • Tanzania championship/ NBC championship
  • Tanzania first league
  • Regional & District leagues

As for them, the league's title sponsor is the NBC bank in Tanzania. For them due to their league been among the top ten in CAF( Confederation of African Football) list, They secure 4 slots in the CAF competitions.CAF champions league is taken by league leaders and runner's up while position 3 and winner's of Azam Sports Federation cup take CAF confederation's cup slots. They also operate in a promotion and relegation system.

In Tanzania, it's a slightly different in terms of youth development thus attraction and attention they get in Africa. For them, they use school games inorder to absorb the talented players into academies of the respective teams in the NBC league, all the 16, which is a MUST for them to have the youth teams.

In conclusion, we can say that both countries need some improvement such as in Kenya, they focus on establishing well organized, youth leagues like their neighbours, which is in progress and also Tanzania, to focus more on how to now export talents for exposure in international matches. There is still more to be done, matters concerning football in both countries and learn from each other.Below is the league's logo.
