The Humble Super Star

 As of now, with the world today, alot has been said about the privileged people been more of loud and even showing their personal lives. For today, our protagonist is more of the opposite.

Our journey starts in the french commune of Rueil Malmaison, in Western Paris, on 29th of March, 1991, where a boy is born to parents of Malian descent by the name Ngolo Kanté.This was as a result of his parents migrating there in the 80's.


At age 8, he joined JS Suresnes still in Paris, where he stayed upto 2010. While in his stay there, some clubs had interest in him at that time, not only in France, but also outside. Some sources even state that Arsene Wenger also had interest to sign him but instead, the president of Surenes club drove him to other french clubs.After all this, Ngolo found himself at US Boulogne.

Unfortunately, the time he joined, he found that his new team, was relegated to the French third tier, Championnat National.He scored his first goal against Luzenac, still in the same league, where they won the game. 

Then SM Caen came on calling Ngolo on a free transfer thus helping them been promoted to the ligue2 the following season after finishing as runner's up in the league.

While still a Caen player, he ended been scouted by Steve Walsh, at that time working with Leicester City. The same scout is also crediyed with the signing of Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez thus, helping Leicester lift the premier league in 2016. Leicester ended up signing Kanté for £5.6million on a four year contract, on 3rd Aug 2015.

 After an impressive season with the foxes, Chelsea came on knocking with a transfer fee of £32million. This ended up somehow been tug of war between Leicester and Chelsea. For Leicsster, they didn't want to loose an important  player while for Chelsea, they saw potential in him. For Ngolo, he wanted a club where he saw a bright future thus, agreeing to Chelsea.He ended up having a good time here.Among the achievements were, been nominated in the ballon d'Or twice, 2017& 2021and even winning the champions league in 2021.

After a longtime at Chelsea, he signed on 21st June 2023 with Saudi's, Al Ittihad, on a £86 million fee. This happenned after his contract with Chelsea expired.Then on Feb 3rd 2026, Fernerbahçe came on to sign him.

National team

As of now, he is a french national football team player among the best indeed. The most notable trophies won while with Les bleus is the 2018 FIFA world cup, hosted in Russia.There are also some speculations of Malian national team needing his services especially in the 2015  Africa Cup of Nations.

All in all, despite all this achievements, he prefers staying a private and peacefullife.He is also acredited with helping back at his ancestral home in Mali with the needed social ammenities. By many scholars, he is regarded among the best Defensive Midfielders of this century.
